Andrey Avinoff
Russian - 1884 - 1949
Born and educated in Russia, Andrey Avinoff is remembered as an etcher and a painter. From 1926 to 1945 he was the director of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittburgh, Pennsylvania. He was also a nationally known butterfly collector. Avinoffs orchid prints are some of the most unique of the 20th century.
